Lynda Axell Correspondence Curriculum Coordinator

Lynda comes from a very dysfunctional family, and her life took a significant turn when she was arrested at the age of 34. Lynda spent the next 34 years in a women’s prison, and upon her release at 68, she relocated to Los Angeles to reinvent herself. Throughout her life, she was a self-starter and a fast learner, but her focus was often on the wrong things and the wrong people. After her release, she began taking classes at Mass Liberation. Once she had completed the classes, she volunteered her time, which led to an internship, and eventually, she was hired part-time as a letter writer. Today, she works full-time as the Curriculum Coordinator. Lynda believes in what Mass Liberation is doing and how they do it and she is deeply committed to humanizing the narrative of those incarcerated by corresponding with them, and helping them with the depth of their discernment coupled with understanding and sympathy.
